Thanks for sharing this! I just recently finished your book... FINALLY! And Thank You!! I finally feel like I have a better understanding of our family's history! Growing up and being spoiled with the luxuries in the States, has deterred me from learning more about our roots. And perhaps it's an age complex, where if I had heard this story years ago, I probably wouldn't comprehend or understand or appreciate it as much as in my recent years.
Thank you for writing it! There were moments I felt my father's assistance and story wasn't being told in fair justice (but that was just in passing in the book), however I found a few pages on it (once reading in more detail), and I appreciate your acknowledgment to my father's efforts to find sponsors for everyone from the States! It was a well written book, and very heart felt!
I know I have never in my entire life, spoken to you much or had much interaction at all, so this letter may come out of the left field, but I was so moved, that I had to just send a hello and wish the best to you! I even shared the book with my boyfriend's family, who are all very interested in reading the story. Thanks for taking the time to put it down in words! Your struggles, charisma, knowledge, and hard work shines throughout the story.
